Holger Johansson
Westal's founder, Holger Johansson, began installing lighting in small outbuildings in Småland as early as the 1940s. With a genuine passion for lighting, the business quickly grew, and in 1947, Holger founded what became the lighting factory in Bankeryd. Many of Holger’s original fixtures remain in our product range to this day. At the same location, we continue to develop and manufacture lighting—now with a focus on the architecture of the future..
Per Johansson
Per Johansson has worked at the then family-owned Westal since 1973, both as a driving force behind the company and as a designer and engineer. Per was fully active until 2015 and is the creator of several fixtures that remain some of Westal's bestsellers to this day.
