Self-learning Wireless Lighting Control

Helvar’s ActiveAhead is an intelligent and scalable solution for wireless lighting control. The advanced technology is used to automate and optimize lighting in various types of properties. The system uses data from sensors and algorithms to continuously learn and adjust light levels according to the specific needs of a given environment.

Luminaires equipped with ActiveAhead are extremely easy to install. The fixtures are simply mounted at the desired location. No additional control cables, programming, or configuration is required. A smart and simple solution for automatic wireless lighting control in offices, warehouses, stairwells, and parking garages.

Better Work Environment and Comfort

Easy and Quick Installation

Energy Savings and Sustainability

Optimal lighting can improve the work environment and increase productivity. ActiveAhead is self-learning and uses a smart algorithm to learn how a space is used. The luminaires collect data from their own sensors as well as from surrounding luminaires, ensuring that the lighting is properly adjusted for different activities and times of the day. This can reduce fatigue and increase comfort for the building's occupants. ActiveAhead is a wireless solution that can be easily installed and configured in both new and existing buildings. The luminaires with pre-installed nodes are mounted as usual in the desired location. No extra control cables, programming, or configuration are needed. The system is also scalable and can be adapted to the specific needs of the property. ActiveAhead monitors the lighting and can detect faults or triggered lamps in real-time. This allows for quick repairs and reduces maintenance costs.
By adjusting light levels in real-time, ActiveAhead can reduce energy consumption and thereby lower electricity costs in the building. The lights automatically turn on and off as needed, and are dimmed when necessary to maintain the correct light levels.
By reducing energy consumption, ActiveAhead decreases the environmental impact of the property and contributes to more sustainable operations.

Intelligent learning of movement patterns

In the beginning, the system works as a standard motion detection. When someone moves within the sensors' range, the motion is detected, and the lights automatically turn on. However, the ActiveAhead system is more than just simple on/off lighting; it is an intelligent solution that learns from users' movement patterns and adapts to create seamless and efficient lighting.

Over time, the system begins to understand the movement patterns, as if it develops a "memory" of how and when people typically pass through. Instead of merely reacting to motion, the system will proactively prepare the lights along the corridor or in the loop.

So, the next time someone enters the corridor or area, the lights won’t just turn on abruptly. Instead, they will gradually illuminate and harmoniously adjust as the person moves through the space. This not only creates a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere but also reduces the risk of sudden and unpleasant lighting changes.

This intelligent lighting adaptation is not only practical but also energy-efficient. Since the system knows when light is needed and at what intensity, it can save energy by avoiding unnecessary lighting when the area is empty. It’s a win-win situation that makes life more convenient while helping to reduce energy consumption.

Personalized configuration via the ActiveAhead app

As an alternative to self-learning, the ActiveAhead mobile application allows you to fine-tune parameters for specific fixtures that are part of a loop (learned via the smart system or configured via the app). This enables you to adjust the lighting based on personal preferences, for example, in a workplace.
By searching for the fixture in the app and linking it with a unique QR code, you will get options to set the power and color temperature or create different scenarios. Once you leave the area, the settings are reset, and the fixture returns to the standard loop.
