Installer: Instalco - Henningsons Elektriska AB, Falun

At the southern entrance to Falun, on a small hill, the new and striking Kårebocken has stood since December 2021. The bock, a tribute to the World Heritage Site of Falun and the history of the Falu Mine, was designed by David Qvick from the communications agency Confetti. Dala Svets & Smide manufactured the seven-meter-high and ten-meter-long bock using corten steel.

Westal was tasked with illuminating the majestic structure.
Inside the large body, five Lumina 12W ground spotlights were installed, while the surrounding area is lit by six Acorn 36W pole luminaires distributed on two 3.5-meter-high poles. The result is that the indirect lighting dramatically highlights the contours and rustic patina, while the pole luminaires frame the site.

The previous Kårebocken was destroyed by fire in April 2020, but it is hoped that the new bock will remain a familiar and strong symbol of the mine and the World Heritage Site for many years to come.
