When Royal Caribbean International began building the ships that are part of what they call the Oasis class, they wanted to create several unique environments on the ships. One of these environments is Central Park, an outdoor sanctuary with winding walkways, lush greenery, cozy bars, and restaurants that offer a calm and picturesque atmosphere. More than 10,000 living trees, plants, and flowers have been carefully planted, and nature sounds are played through hidden speakers to create a realistic park environment. It’s easy to forget that you’re on a ship – at least for a while.
In the evening, the vegetation and walkways are illuminated by Arnäs bollards in copper, whose classic design in modern and maritime style fits perfectly into the onboard environment. The four closely positioned glare-shield rings provide very pleasant and well-diffused lighting. Arnäs is made from materials that make it highly durable and long-lasting. Additionally, the pole tube was customized to a smaller model to create a lighter impression of the bollard.

All five ships in the Oasis class have their own Central Park. These five ships – the latest being Wonder of the Seas, launched in 2022 – are the largest cruise ships operating in the Caribbean and Europe.
