On the northern shore of Lake Lygn, lies the community of Sätila. In 2021, a local entrepreneur named Daniel Abrahamsson built a completely new padel hall for the community’s residents. Daniel immediately realized that the solution with floodlights following the padel courts would not provide sufficiently even lighting and that glare would be a problem. He then asked Olsfors Elektriska to help him find a good solution.
Westal was approached by Olsfors Elektriska to design the lighting for the padel courts. The requirement was at least 500 lux and a pleasant, well-glare-controlled light to play in. The solution chosen was a setup of 2x9 WLF IP23 100W fixtures on each court. The lights are controlled using a DALI-KNX gateway and automatically turn on 5 minutes before the booked time. To avoid the hall being too dark between bookings, 7 Ark Raw Pendels were installed in the walkway in front of and between the courts.
To match the design language, 2 Ark Mini LED fixtures were placed outside at the entrance doors, and 3 Magnum Cylinder II fixtures were installed to provide strong up/down light on the large hall walls.
