Aftén Bil in Stockholm was founded in 2008 by Johan Aftén and has since grown to operate five full-service facilities and tire centers in the Stockholm area—Åkersberga, Upplands Väsby, and Barkarby.
In 2021, Aftén Bil built a brand-new facility in Åkersberga. This specific facility is a dedicated Volkswagen center, covering a total of 7,500 square meters and featuring the sale of both passenger and commercial vehicles. The facility also includes an adjoining service workshop and car wash.
All VW showrooms are built following a standardized concept for interior design and lighting. Westal was tasked with designing the lighting solution for the other areas of the facility, including offices and conference rooms, staircases, the workshop, the car wash, and the basement/used car storage.
- "The result was a cost-effective, comprehensive solution focusing on glare-free lighting for a good working environment in all parts of the business," says Johan Bergkvist, consultant sales representative at Westal. "We also aimed to match Volkswagen's own concept lighting in the showroom as closely as possible for an enhanced overall experience."
